People I don’t know are being added to my friends list without me adding them.

Four people, to be precise. Now, two of them have mysteriously vanished again, and someone on my legitimate friends list has been taken off. What’s going on?

Perhaps there is some confusion about what, exactly, denotes a friend.

There are three “categories” of friendship at Help.com:

1) Fans
- They are people who have added you as a friend, but you haven’t returned the favor

2) Favorites
- You have added these people as a friend, but they haven’t added you!

3) Friends
- These people are actual friends. You added them and they also added you establishing a relationship.

Does that clear it up?

No, because people are being added to my “favorites” with no action on my part.

It is entirely possible for that to happen, actually. If a friend ‘defriends’ you, then they would go back to being a ‘favorite’ on your list.

Can you take a screenshot (or a copy paste) of your friends as it stands now, and do it again if you see it happen again so I can see the change?

Not being taken off my friends list and put on my favorites. Being put on my favorites when we don’t know each other and neither of us has ‘friended’ the other. Just out of the blue.

That kind of thing doesn’t happen “out of the blue”. There has to be a user initiated action to insert data into the database to cause the lists to change. Not to say you or they are doing it, but someone is.

However, I really can’t do anything about this without concise examples or the ability to reproduce the problem.
