Minutes help: My 8 year old golden retriever is limping when ever he gets up, like his leg is stiff and hard to move. - Help.com

My 8 year old golden retriever is limping when ever he gets up, like his leg is stiff and hard to move.

Its in his back left leg. Could it be hip dysplasia, or arthritis or is he just weird?
He’s not very active, and likes to laze around. When we go on walks, he’ll lay down halfway through.
He walks the stiffness off after a few minutes, but I’m worried about him.

dysplasia is not common in retrievers but you need to take him to the vet for and x ray cause you never know. if it is arthritis or something else it can be painful for him. in the mean time dont make him walk around unless he has to do his business. bring his water and food close to him and make him comfortable till you get him checked. dogs are very good at hiding pain, best of luck !

A quite new, really very good and very helpful medicament against arthrosis (osteoarthritis) is C2Collaplex
http://www.genitrix.co.uk/2008product…
(Older vets don’t know it even.)

It’s for dog and cats and cured my tomcat from the same pain.

He went to the vet, and he has mild arthritis. Its not bad to where he needs meds for it, but it will eventually get worse. Thank you for the advice.

I hope that you give the C2Collaplex!
