Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
yes, any form of body piercing is an abomination to the lord, seriously, check your bible.
depends on what kind of christians you hang with….some people might disapprove…others won’t care
dont forget to never wear clothing made from two kinds of material!

What in the world does one thing have to do with the other???
I think wardog is referring to some references in Leviticus…there are a lot of laws including not wearing clothes made from two different materials.
But most references on piercings have to do with slavery - as slaves were pierced by the masters…
You know, if you gauge your ears up so far, they will reach a state where there’s always a weird sort of smell coming from them…
Anyway, there are a lot, lot, lot of Christians that do the whole body-modification thing, and no one seems to have a problem with it.
If you’re looking for some examples of this sort of thing in action, look up the Cornerstone Christian Music Festival (usually around the 4th of July) here in the US Heartland. There’s almost nothing those kids -won’t- do.
As long as you’re still taking showers, the rest of the world probably won’t care too much. :)
Your body is a temple of the Lord Jesus Christ. How you treat your body, is how you treat God Himself. My opinion…

I would think, now I’m not a Christian, but I would think that God would love you for your soul, the person that you are and the way you treat others as well as yourself. I don’t think he/she would care if you had holes in your ears or not. If you were causing some physical or mental harm to yourself then maybe he/she would be concerned but gauges? No way. Very doubtful.
that was irony sunshine, irony, it was like rain on your wedding day.
What I am saying, is that if you harm your body, just remember, you are GOD’S TEMPLE. But yes God will love everyone no matter what they do. He hates the sin, not the sinner.
Wardog,
If you don’t have anything HELPFUL to provide to the OP then I suggest you leave this thread NOW.

You’re welcome. :)
Irony? I think you mean sarcasm. Funny but I’m not here to judge the belief, just sharing my opinion.
actually puck, i thought that a cynical perspective on this topic was very helpful, you seem a bit biased, try to se this from a wider perspective maybe?

no i meant irony, its not the same thing as sarcasm, see my post below for a reference to irony.
going to be honest war, this is a bias question, and the op is looking for an answer that refers to his/her beliefs. So yes it is bias, but they are looking for a bias answer.

Judgement is never helpful. Any person with a caring and understanding attitude towards religion of all types has an open mind, I personally feel like you are being one-sided. I don’t appreciate people pushing their beliefs on me and I’m sure you don’t either, maybe you shouldn’t do it as well.

I’m a moderator and I’m actually an athiest. I am here to maintain some sorta sanity and control when it’s needed and your comments were very inappropriate. If you feel the need to address me further please do so through shouts.
the OP is obviously quite young to ask a question of this nature, i know many christians with massive stretched lobes, the fact that they might fear to do this speaks volumes about the people that he or she is worried about offending..
it is not proscribed by the general christian faith, some things that are proscribed by the religion however are in violation of international human rights to discriminate against, and this should not be tolerated by decent people, but i might have to say no more as this is getting a bit annoying and il just get banned if i keep saying what i think.
No one is upset about you saying what you think as long as it is helpful to the poster, it was just the manner in which you had said it, mockingly and discriminative.
Wardog,
This is my last warning to you, either leave the post or start offering some constructive advice to the OP.

It was probably inevitable that this would turn into at least a tiny debate, but I don’t think this poor kid knew what they were getting into.
:/

christians moaning about non-christians pushing beliefs.. its beyond, ironically, belief.dude, we are saying we respect your beliefs, and we arent exactly MAKING you post on here, they asked a simple question, looking for a simple answer, not some religious debate. Tank you and goodnight.
there is no simple answer tho of course, since the very fact the OP is concerned that there is something BAD about an ear piercing shows that they live in -what OP may not even realise- is an oppressive environment, i really pity people in that situation as i grew up in a catholic family myself.
the simple answer is no, its not ‘bad’ for anyone, how can something be bad for a christian thats not bad for anyone else? if it were so, that would be a human rights violation again, all people are to be treated equitably after all.

Let’s not fan the flames… :\
No, it is not a bad thing to gauge your ears.
There are plenty of christians that do it. Same with tattoos.
To the OP: I am going to close this post as it went completely off-topic and became argumentative. Please feel free to make another post asking this question.
