Situation help: For roughly the last two weeks, I’ve had a really itchy scalp and neck. - Help.com

For roughly the last two weeks, I’ve had a really itchy scalp and neck.

It’s been impossible to ignore. I wash my hair regularly so I don’t think that my hair is itchy due to dirt or oil. I don’t have dandruff and I got someone to check and make sure that I didn’t have head lice (I don’t). I can’t wear my hair down because it irritates my neck too much. We’ve had extremely hot weather this last week and I’m not too sure whether that would have aggravated the situation. I’ve been combing my hair and keeping it clean but nothing seems to help.
This morning I discovered small red spots around my neck. They’re not itchy but I’m not sure whether they’re a result of my scratching or something else entirely.
Does anyone have any idea of what I could do to stop the itch, or possibly know why I’m itching?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

could be a heat rash, you might want to go to a dermatologist because it could be a more serious condition like ezcema.

I always always recommend Pure jojoba oil for mysterious itches, rash and scalp irritations. It is so soothing and the skin drinks it in. I used it on my face as well for a moisturizer/cleanser as well and it really helps keep a clear complexion. I also use it on my children’s skin for all skin irritations.

If that doesn’t work you may have to see a dr. But I think it will work. Good luck :)

Thanks for your help! I also have similar spots on my arms (near my wrists) which are itchy. I’ve researched heat rash and think it could possibly be that - but I’m not too sure why it’s lasted this long and why it’s still affecting me as it’s cooled down dramatically. I’ve been thinking about visiting the doctor if it doesn’t clear up soon.

Thank you! I’ll have a look around for jojoba. :)

What happen to you usually happen in my country who are very hot weather, I think it is prickly heat which causes the sweat on some very sensitive skin. may often sprinkled with anti-itch powder will make you more comfortable.
