boyfriend help: Guys, how do you feel when your girlfriend is feeling needy? - Help.com

Guys, how do you feel when your girlfriend is feeling needy?

I just started a new birth control pill after stopping my last one mid-cycle because of the extreme mood swings it caused me. Now, this is my second day of my new pill, and it is just slightly better than my last pill.

Now, when I get these mood swings, and I swing into a depressive state or a sad state, I start to get to feeling needy. I hate feeling that way because I feel like I would burden my boyfriend because I know guys don’t like dealing with emotions. And he hates seeing me cry.

So guys, what do you think? How would you deal with a girl who’s being clingy, if you know it’s not her normal personality, but induced by medication?

maybe you can try another form of birth control that doesn’t mess w/ your hormones. i think pms messes w/ them enough as is, imo.

I truly don’t have the money to get a good method of birthcontrol that is hormone free. I’ve been thinking about getting an IUD, but they cost upwards of 300 dollars, and I don’t make nearly enough money for that. And I want a method of birth control that I can double up with, like birth control and condoms, to be extra sure to keep from getting pregnant

Thanks, I can’t have myself getting pregnant, my boyfriend and I are most definitely not ready to bring life into this world.

But I feel bad about being needy around him. I know he has trouble with seeing people cry, so I don’t want to make him uncomfortable. But I also feel like I need him to be there for me right now. I just feel bad asking for the help.

I just mentioned wanting to use more than one method of birth control so I can be sure not to get pregnant. I want to use a condom plus something, and I’m apprehensive about spermicide and diaphragms.

That is what boyfriends are supposed to do. When a girlfriend calls me up and wants me to hang out and snuggle it makes me feel wanted… I mean as long as it is not every single day all the time. I think it is okay, don’t worry about the occasional neediness.

Thanks. I’ll see if I can hang out with him tomorrow. I miss him.
