What does it mean when someone is happy with the mirror image of themselves, but seriously displeased with their reverse reflection?

Is this the reason that self conscious people (generally women with insecurities, shame on me) don’t like getting their picture taken? It’s like looking in the mirror but reverse. The same thing happens when you’re working mirror angles or in a fun house and are looking into an even number of mirrors. What is this about? Am I really the average looking guy with the ability to be attractive, or the ugly man I see in my reverse reflections who can only hope not to be such a repulsive result of bad breeding? I won’t post my face and let you decide, I used to be seriously put down for my appearance, and I wouldn’t like anybody I know now to find out it’s my insecurity.
