I am 16 right now and I live in Japan.

I just moved here about 7 months ago and I will be going home to Ohio in June. I never lived anywhere other than Ohio before now and I was friends with everyone and was really involved with a lot of activities. I want to graduate with my friends next year too. I cannot wait until I go back! The catch is, I have to make a decision about if I want to stay in Ohio or not. I would love to but I would be living on my own because my parents would be coming back to Japan. Therefore, I would have very little financial support. I will of course get a job but I have to pay all of my bills and pay for college next year by myself. If I stay in Japan, then my dad promised me a cruise to Hawaii and he said he would help me out financially when I do return. I could either go home this summer, this winter, next summer, or the following winter.

I think you should go back home to Ohio and be with your friends and go to graduate school and if youhave financial problems, I bet one of your friends or even the parents in Japan can help you out there. They could send you money until you are all set.

stay with your parents in Japan, and stay in touch with your friends. usually after graduation every one goes there seperate ways anyway. Besides, they are so far away if you needed something who could you depend on ?

It would be your chance to live on your own. It would all depend on if you are ready and self dependant. This is truly a tough decision to make.. Your parents will always be there for you no matter how far away you are from them. Welcome back and go bucks..

I want to say that I’m ready but I mean, I’ve never been on my own before and I have no idea what its like. I have A’s and B’s in school, I do all of my chores, I keep my room clean, and in my opinion I am a pretty responsible person. People tell me all the time that I am very mature for my age. I will be living with my aunt and uncle and they said they will help with whatever they can but it still scares to not have the support that I have from my parents.
