Can someone bring a jar of jelly in his carry-on luggage on his upcoming flight?
A friend of mine bought a jar of special jelly for my mom that is made in England (I and my mom are American). He’s flying to Houston this Tuesday and was originally going to put the jar in his checked luggage until he heard how cold it gets in the luggage - about -40 degrees F. He now wants to bring it in his carry-on but I doubt he’ll be allowed. It’s a glass jar and is larger than 3 ounces. If he tells security it’s a present for someone, would he be allowed to carry it on? Or will it be safe in the checked luggage?
