Person help: In 2004 my Dad stopped smoking. - Help.com

In 2004 my Dad stopped smoking.

My sister passed away in 2009 so my mom is you still fragile. Well recently i caught him smoking again. He doesnt know that i know but what i’m worrying about is that if my mom figures it out and sees evidence shes not gonna be okay with that. Shes gonna cry and say that my dad lies and that he’s a nasty person and lotes of things and this is gonna stress me out and distract me a lot. Please give me some advice.

First of all I’m so sorry for the loss of your sister, Im sure her passing is still raw with all of you.
I take it your mum had a problem with your dad smoking before and she was glad when he gave up?
Why not just speak to your dad, explain you are worried about his health and that you think this will make tensions run high in the family. Theres so many great stop smoking aids out there at the minute and you may find if he has your support he can quit a bit easier :)
Good luck x

I would say: Don’t mess with it.
Your dad is old enough to know what he does.
