I’m having trouble losing weight!

I’m 14 lbs heavier than I used to be all throughout school (I’m 22 now) and I can’t seem to lose this extra weight. I exercise for at least an hour every day - I do cycling and running.

I also eat a healthy diet with measured portion sizes so I know that I’m not eating too many calories per day (about 1400 calories). I do not ever eat junk food because it’s tends to be too greasy for me and just the smell of it makes me feel sick. I eat plenty of fruits and veg I don’t really like fatty food - I just prefer lean meat. I’ve given up alcohol and I don’t even eat the yolk when I have an egg! :-)

I have lost no weight in 3 months and I don’t know what else I can do! However I have lost 2 inches from my waist. WTF!

By the way don’t suggest that I try swimming because I can’t swim, I’ve tried to learn but I always just keep sinking no matter what the instructor says!

A lot of the time, being stressed about losing weight is what KEEPS you from losing weight. Instead of just working out, try to find a sport you like. It relieves stress and helps you get in shape. I lost a ton of weight after I took up tennis.

You could be mistaking weight loss for muscle gain. Muscle weighs more than fat does, So in the course of all your exercise you may be losing weight but in reality it seems the opposite due to the gain in muscle.

If you’re sure you’re eating what you say you are, then you WILL have lost weight. And the 2 inches off your stomach shows that. You’ve just gained muscle weight, but lost fat weight. Be proud of yourself! Because cosmetics aside, your body will be a lot healthier now than it was before.
