How to get rid of little, flat, red spots on skin?

I think this is a common thing, but I’ve had tiny bright red dots on my skin for as long as I can remember. Not a ton of them, but a few on my hands and wrists (the size of a pinprick) and a bigger one on my breast (the size of a grain of rice)… That last one especially is really not attractive, and I’ve been trying to figure out what they are but none of the sources that I’ve found online seem to fit the description of what I have.

It’s been the same little dots for years and years, though I’ve had one or two that have faded (the rest haven’t changed at all). They’re completely flat to my skin, and if I look closely at the bigger ones I can see that they’re made up of tinier specks of red. Some of the descriptions online say that they’re to be expected with aging, but I’m a teenager… and while that might be normal I’m still not too thrilled about it. Is there any way to get rid of these, or to at least diminish their appearance?

Thanks for the invite, Dr.Jackson.

To the OP: The only time I’ve seen what you’re describing is as a reaction to a medication. Is there a chance that you’ve been on any particular medication for several years?

Otherwise: sorry, but I haven’t a clue. You didn’t mention itching and they don’t seem to be causing you any physical discomfort, so I’d suggest that you ask your doctor about them during your next regular check-up visit. Wish I could be more helpful, but I’m stumped. :(

I don’t have the faintest idea. However, I agree with Aries about asking your doctor. Methinks if anyone is capable of pinpointing the name and cause of the mysterious red spots then it would be a doctor.

Good luck.

You mean “freckles”?
You want to get rid of your freckles?

they arent freckles… i dont think. freckles are on the surface of the skin. if the op is talking about what i think he is, they look ALMOST like they are JUST under.

The biggest thing wrong with the diagnoses I’ve found online are that they say they go away in a few months/years, but I’ve had the current ones for as long as I can remember. And no, they aren’t freckles…

One explanation I’m seeing is ‘capillary endings’, and the description seems to fit but I can’t find any pictures to compare to… so I don’t know if that’s right.

I’ve heard mentions of something similar to this before…
Do these look like they describe something similar?

Actually I have a thought, but first, where exactly are all these spots? Chest, hands and wrist are all you listed, is that the only spots?

The description of ‘pinpoint red dots’ sounds about right, but the pictures don’t look much like what I have… Mine are brighter and smaller (except the one big one).

Umm, 3 on my hands, 2 on my wrists, 1 on my forearm, 1 on my shoulder, and the biggest one on my boob (that looks like it’s made up of 6 or 7 little ones) :C

Honestly, it almost sounds like an old grease burn to me. When ya cook with grease on a stove top and it splatters it will burn, and those burn marks hardly ever go away. Course I may very well be wrong as I know little about grease burns in general, but what does everyone else think about this?

Ahm, based on the, er, location, I’d guess not grease burns. Though that could cause something similar ^^

There are about 61 causes of red spots. (I narrowed it down to that many, yay. Haha.)

I have them, too. Not many, but a few, especially near my elbows. (about 5 of them)
My neighbour saw them a few yrs ago (9 or 10) and he told me about a very serious problem that he knew of, bc he’d had the same things. Caused by eating pork that wasn’t quite cooked enough. There were probably about 25 people all show up at the emergency room at the same time. All were very ill. The ONLY thing that they could trace it back to as a common source was that they had all attended a BIG party about 2 months earlier. They had a roasted pork there. All of them ate it. The doc explained to him that this one thing was caused by it. Maybe if you hadn’t had a lot of pork, you wouldn’t have gotten as ill. Maybe you wouldn’t have been able to connect the two things. Anyway, we’re both fine with ours. Our spots are just tiny dots. Like a dot at the end of this sentence. He just needed meds. I didn’t need a thing. I wasn’t even ill. Hope this helps. I don’t know that they ever go away.

they are called cherry angiomas and they are known to go away temporarily with hydrogen peroxide and epsom salts. a sign that the body is magnesium and oxygen deficient due to high consumption of highly acidifying foods. watch what you eat and do lots of cleanses.

I’ve recent;y had a lot of them on my hands (both) feet and kneecaps. there are a ton of them and I don’t know what to do. My friend who was a doctor said to take a bath daily and eat right. I seems to help but the feet itch and the spot are bright red.
