Do you use user matching?
When you post your questions and ideas you get matched with users like yourself. My question is, do you help the users that match your question or do you ignore and use your tags and notice page, instead?
What are your thoughts about user matching?

Fair enough nixevan, okay, when you write a post, you should see a scrolling box of people, you have the choice to click into them and help them as well.
I have never used that…. might be fun…
Can I ask Queen Elizatron do you use it? Are the people that are matched more helpful do you find?
Personal I do not use it, I answer questions using tags and my notice page. Most of the questions in user matching are old or I’ve already answered them.
I hate to admit that.
I am sure that there is more to the site that I realise I only found out about chat yesterday and have been posting for about 2 weeks. I do like to try and help tho
I dont bother. tbh, i find that whole post-post page a bit inconvenient

I don’t post questions…I just answer them. So I only use my tags and the main notice page.
I don’t use them. I noticed them, but I reply to the posts that are on my notice page or else read through the other posts on the main page.
I always try at least to look at them all, but I can’t help with much, But I do help with what I can.
Im right with Taps & Anthrax….
i dont know here? i come on and answer the notices? how do you do otherwise?
For most experienced users, the “reciprocity links” as we call them internally, won’t help much.
They are more for new users who are looking for a way to get involved and we want them to get their message out. Instead of just sitting idly at a post they just made, we offer them a quick way to get out and connect with the people who, we hope, are the most likely to be able to help them with an answer to the question they asked.

Thank you Jeff, I see your point, this is a good thing for new users.
Tags and notices. We look through matching but never use it.
So, if I am reading this right, the user base places a pretty heavy emphasis on the usefulness and functionality of the notices page.
It would be pretty convenient if I were to be able to unsubscribe myself from thread in the notice page, since that’s one of the only tabs I really ever go into here…
You can do that on the post page right after you’re done with it too. (Scroll up, see “UnSub” link)

Using matching is made so you can help people, right?
