“Death”

I don’t want it.
Who would?
I don’t need it.
Who does?
But when I’m scared,
Or worried too,
Sometimes I wonder,
Is it worth it?
And then the answer.
No, it’s not.
I’m not ready to die,
But when my time comes,
I’ll gladly go,
Because I didn’t have any
Second thoughts.

This poem is dedicated to my bff, who I love to death, but is making me sad, by cutting, but I want to help. I would never send this to her, for she might get cared, mad, etc.

The world needs death. It would become pretty freakin’ crowded if nothing died!

Well, I’m saying I don’t WANT it NOW because I’m so young and life is short I really would like to enjoy something, why not life itself? Ya know?

So why worry about it? Don’t fret about death, think about living and don’t dwell on what you want to think about.

that should read “don’t dwell on what you don’t want or need to think about.”

P.S. - don’t type with a tablet pen in your hand.

1. I wrote this because (if you read the whole thing) I dedicated it to my friend because she is having trouble right now.
2. If you don’t like what I write, don’t comment, if your going to be rude about it, k?
3. Huh? What the heck is a “tablet pen”?
Yeah, so what? I’m pretty stupid, big deal. I don’t have a “large” vocabulary, get over it.
I’m really mad if you couldn’t tell.

Your friend may actually be coping in her own way. Sometimes, the contemplation of death makes certain aspects of life easier. Sometimes, cutting aids in that contemplation. Just be a witness to your friends suffering, as I think you already are.

What’s the point of posting poetry if you aren’t willing to discuss it? I didn’t aim to make you mad, I just made an observation as people tend to do when reading poetry. Who knows? Ideas for help can come out of constructive discussion.

Don’t worry about the tablet pen thing…it’s an input device for a computer that I use here at work instead of a mouse. It’s a flat device that you “draw” on with a special pen to move the cursor around, and I tend to keep it in my hand when typing, thus causing me to make mistakes.

I like your poem minnieloves.

if you want to help your friend stop self-harming try going on this website or maybe give her the link so she can find advice online.
www.selfharm.org.uk
even if she doesn’t feel ready to stop, there’s advice for her so she can at least stay safe.

hope you’ll both get to feel better.

x
Lilly

Very nice poetry, I, also have had a friend who was cutting and thinking about suicide, only she was the one to write poetry, she would share it with me and i think that that is what made her come out of her depressive state, I think that it is very nice of you to write in honor of your friend. Nice style too
