Help connecting to the internet.

I just performed system restore on my computer and everything is at its factory state. I have an installation CD for a Motorolla SURFboard eXtreme Wireless Cable Modem Gateway. I put it into my disc drive and it isn’t working. It initiates the installation but stops and doesn’t mention anything. What can I do? I still have the modem (with power supply), ethernet cable, and coaxial cord.
