I am currently in year 11 and am thinking about thurther education in the drama industury.

My local college does do a adequate course, but i cant help thinking it will look like nothing compared to all the aplacation forms with well known theatre schools writian all over them. I cannot afford to go to a theatre school as a train ticket would cost around three thousand pounds for a year (as i live in milton keynes) and thats just for travel let alone the actual course. I am aware you can take a year off before you go to college, i currently have a job amnd could rase the money by next year. Do you think its worth it? Do you know of any other drama schools closer to me? I feel it would be even harder than i expect it to be without going to one of these schools, am i right? I am very determed to make it in the acting career. What can help me to do this? It all seems to cost so much, i can go to the free things but they seem to be getting me nowere.
I hope you can help me

Hello there ^^
How about talking to a friendly drama teacher at your school about this?
If you’re in Year 11 and doing you GCSE’s, they might recommend that you take an A Level drama course, then progress onto a degree course in Drama.
I don’t know of the routes into the industry, but try talking to people who are either already there, or have some experience of what what can be good training.

Apart from that, just keep your eyes open for any local performances, competitions, anything drama related that catches your eye, and go for it! The more experience the better, and a lot of these things can be absolutley free!
You seem really keen which is great! That is the most important thing ^^
So just keep at it ^^! You’re still pretty young, you have your whole life ahead of you! You just have to think about what qualifications you want to have, and maybe getting some A Levels first would be a good idea. But it’s really what’s best for you :)
Try and talk to a teacher or someone who’s already in the Industry, they’ll hopefully be able to put your mind at ease and give you some useful advice from first-hand experience.

Best of luck Amber :)!
