are you an american citizen? if not then that would be first. not 100% on the next part, but i know two years of the police accademy is required to get in to the police department. there should be somewhere online that could give you more info :]

If you are Nigerian in America and a legal resident with a work permit, it will be relatively easy - start by responding to a local recruitment advertisement, then after you gain some experience, if you want to, you can go to a training academy and then move up to a higher status position.

If you are in Nigeria, probably your best bet is to start applying to colleges and universities for a degree in criminal justice, and come to United States on a student visa, then apply for internships. No guarantees you will be accepted, though.
