Ideas help: Bat Problem. - Help.com

Bat Problem.

All right, there’s a bat outside my room squeaking up a storm. Problem is, the cat is also in my room and I don’t want the cat to try to attack the bat for both their safety. My parents are across the hall. Anyone got any ideas?

Take a baseball bat and tell him “you wanna know why they call you ‘bats’?”

On a more serious note, maybe try opening up a window and chasing it outside. You might wanna wear a pair of gloves or something so that if it tries to bite you, at the very least it won’t be as bad as if it bit your bare hands.

More the problem is that it’s outside my room and as soon as I open my door the cat is going to try to attack it and I really don’t care to take my cat to get tested for rabies or any other nasty disease that bats happen to be carriers of, at 4AM. Also, the squeaking is keeping me up so I can’t just ignore it until morning.

I think the cat will win unharmed if it gets the bat. My cat is very agile.

Mine doesn’t have front claws. But it’s OK, turns out it was just the dryer.

Hmm, that’s true. My cats would definitely do the same. This might sound like kind of a mean thing to do, but can you put your cat in a closet or something until you’ve got the bat out?
