I’m turning 22 and evaluating my life.

I have always thought I would have done things differently by now. And yea I know I am still young and that most people will say “things never go as planned.” But still. I can’t help but wonder what I should do now.
I have yet to go to college. It has never really appealed to me. I never wanted to stay in a place long enough to do so. I have lived in Arizona for longer then I have planned, but have made some of the best friendships I could ask for. But I life for new experiences and am thinking about moving.
I am thinking this is just more of getting thoughts off my head for people to read more so then asking for anything. so bare with me haha.

What would you do if you starting going new places again? Ever been to another country?
I’ve moved a bit, but I eventually got tired of it and wanted to settle down in one place for a time, so the opposite scenario for me than for you it seems ^^

I would like to visit other countries, see other walks of life. If i lived in other places I would like to experience what it has to offer. I am not much for cities anymore. Though I gave thought to someplace near an ocean. I have never seen one and figure it would be a nice experience.
While I am not materialistic and could live life in a more simple matter, there is a big part that tugs at me that I “have to go to school” I ” Have to make lots of money.” all in the voice of other people that want me to have a “godo life” by traditional standards. Personally I would rather have adventure, good people, and always changing experiences to live a fulfilled life.

I’m the same way, man. I’m 21. I want to go back to school yet at the same time I want to move around. I’ve moved quite a bit since I graduated high school. I feel like a nomad. At the same time I stand back and look at my life and think “what am I doing?”.
Just keep in mind, school is important. Eventually you should try to go back. :)

Adventure for a while then! If you like photography and writing you could freelance and blog about your adventures and maybe make money doing it! Or you could volunteer places while traveling which looks great on resumes and when applying for schools. :P just a thought.

Go for it! Do what you like while you’ve little responsibilities such as a family to care for. Travel and enjoy. EGx

Let me share a story with you, being that I am pretty much in the same boat right now.

I was sitting at a bar one night. I don’t often go to bars, but that night I decided I would go to a restraunt bar and enjoy some good food and wine. There was this older man sitting next to me, he was talking away to some of the people I worked with. They all seemed to be enjoy his company. I started to eves drop onto their conversation, and very quickly I was ammused. He was talking about all the places in the world he’s traveled. How he’d stayed in one place for a year, then somewhere on the other side of the world for a year. He talked about all the jobs he’s had and how school was never reall his thing when he was younger. This was particularly interesting to me because school has always been a tough spot for me. Then he mentioned that he was an engineer. I decided to budge in and ask him how he became an engineer if he just didn’t feel like school was his thing.

He said “Well, after you traveled that world. Anything else seems easy. You see how much freedom we have in our country and how many advantages we have over other countrys. When I was finally finished with traveling I knew that school would be easy. I did it. It went by fast. And now I’m an engineer, with a family”

I don’t know if those words will do the same thing for you as they did for me. But I thought maybe you’d like to hear it. Best of luck with your travels sir.

A-Cortex. that is something I think I needed to hear.

I think In about a years time I will start my journey. Most likely start off Leather Tramping, and go from there.
I figure a Year of prep time to brush up and learn new skills for the road will help.
Thank you all for your advice. I hope all goes well for all of you as well. (even the ones just looking in :) )
