Delete all your pictures and files and send everything to the recycle bin and empty it. I am sure that is not a good answer, but it will help.

I use Advanced System Care to keep my computer maintained, but you should really do a defrag, disk clean, and maybe a restore point. You might also have spyware or adware and some viruses slowing down your computer. Spybot Search and Destroy is a good spyware/adware/virus detection program that is free.

Go to the configuration screen -> software and uninstall all programs you rarely or never use. (be sure which ones, pay attention to the small programs)
consider buying more RAM, if you have 2 gb or less, you will need more. On average this problem means you have too much background programs running.

I’m not familiar with that program so I can’t tell you how good it is. Some virus/spyware programs can seep through virus programs if the program is not well made. I think the top now is Norton but it slows down the computer by itself unless you have high RAM on your computer. Next best is Kaspersky. I had it, it doesn’t slow the computer down as much and it does a good job. I stopped using it cause ;D I can’t pay to get it on my computer every year lol.

You really should try doing a defragment on your computer though. That will be a good start because sometimes fragmented files can take up more of your RAM and cause your computer to slow down. Also a Disk Clean will help as well. Start with those two then start looking for spyware removal/virus detection programs.

Running Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter on a regular basis is a proven way to help keep your computer running quickly and efficiently.

There is a free software you can download called gamebooster that stops a lot of the background programs you don’t need from running speeding up your computer some.
