school help: Stress fracture? - Help.com

Stress fracture?

Okay so im a runner and about 3 -4 weeks ago I had pain in my left shin only. I just assumed it was shin splints and when school got Out I took time off running and it went away apart from a dull ache occasionally. I ran yesterday for the 1st time and now it’s back worse than ever. I could hardly walk. Do you think it might be a stress fracture? My dad is out of work so I don’t want to go to a doctor unless I have to. What do you guys think?

I think you need to have it evaluated by a Doctor. Is there a place where you live that works on a sliding scale fee for service base, or provides free medical help? If you are having on going problems it is not good to keep running on it and risk making things worse.

And until you know more about you should wear at least a shin bandage!
