“In the Fire”
I wish it would all just burn and die
Your love was nothing but a lie
Ill cry in this fire
Still burning with desire
for his love that faded like the wind
in a breath it had come and gone
I just wanted to belong
In a love that was fake as a plastic smile
It only stayed for a little while
Only when love was convenient and good
For my heart, he never understood
So Ill use these lies as my wood
To burn in the fire that already consumes me
Forever scaring me as it burns and torments
I wish I would just hurry and fade like the wind of love
Only a moment of bliss and then its gone
Forever to be desired and forever to feel wronged
So Ill feed this fire with the wood that is his lies
Because in the fire, tears, you can not cry.
This was a poem written by me not too long ago about my recent ex who I am still very in love with. It is a LONG story that I’ll type up sooner or later but, in short, he dragged me through the mud for a long time, punishing me for my transgressions.
