I am having a problem reading .pdf attachments sent to me by non-aol contacts.

The .pdf files being sent to me by others are being converted to winmail.dat files that I cannot access. Why are abode files being converted? How can I ever receive adobe files and be able to access them if the aol service automatically converts the file to winmail.dat files? I trust the sender, I have adobe acrobat 8 on my computer.

The sender should zip it.

or else have them send it to you through email instead… Just zipping it wiser, you won’t have to leave aol and as a plus the file will be smaller meaning faster transfer times.

Or dump AOL like a brick to the bottom of the ocean and get a real service provider. AOL sux and is a rip off and a liar and I hate them…. ahem. Time for a beer to calm down just a bit.

Hi Cristian. Thank you for your response. That is what I concluded also after some trial and error. I had never had the problem with sending adobe files in years past so I guess, the times, they are a changin’ as Bob Dylan once said.

I apoligize for my delay in response, but I used the AOL account simply to get the answer you gave me. I use MSN for y regular e-mails. So, where are you from?

Richard
