Rehoming a pet dog is harder than I thought it would be.
My economic situation has changed over the last several months due to a layoff, so I put out an ad to rehome my dog. I received so many request, but my frist choice was a family with kids. I narrowed it down to two families. I went prepaired to give up the dog. The family loved him…and he was very playful with them as well. However when I walked away, the dog went absolutely nuts. He must have known that I was giving him away. I got in my car a proceeded to drive away, but the dog pulled away from the prospected new owners and chased after my car. I stopped and opened the door and he jumped in, barking and whinning. I just couldn’t do it after that incident. He is so attached to me, so I figured no matter what my situation is, he would be willing to adjust.
