How can I turn my 15 pound soft weight bar (The Bar 15) into a metal bar for self defense?

I don’t actually plan on having a need for it, but if someone was to break into my apartment and I don’t want to make a spike bat out of it, I want to know how to basically dip it into metal.

If you want a reasonable force and a reasonable to defend your home - buy a dog and pay for that dogs training in holding a person down.
Metal bar can kill, and if you would kill a person if he would enter your home - you can end up in jail serving life sentence for murder.

Uh..You could make anything a weapon if you knew where to hit.. o.O
Depends on where the person lives.. Down where I live, it’s legal to kill someone who trespasses on your property and makes you feel threatened. And sometimes it’s better to just kill the guy because if you injure him and he escapes, he’ll sue. Because everyone sues for the smallest things down here too! xD
