How do you get “Flarp” out of little girl’s hair?

Flarp is that gooey, fake-fart-noise making toy where you push the gooey blob into a small plastic cup; the air that escapes makes a fart noise. Heh heh, my 5 year old daughter put a long strand of it in her hair after playing with it like playdough…. What now?

no idea, have you called a beautician? Peanut butter works with gum. When you find something that works let us know , my niece has that stuff.

hi - I just did a little research and the manufacturer’s name is JA-RU. Their customer service people may be able to help get an answer too. Here is their contact information:

(800) 231- 3470 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday

i would try somehow taking dawn or somethign that breaks down grease and try to wash her hair.
you could just run hot water under her hair till it melts free

i don’t know

Ah-HAH! I let it dry, then it sortof crumbled out, with a comb’s help and a patient girl… Then we shampooed the remaining crumbs out - - good as new! Thanks Erik for looking up the manufacturer’s info. That was very kind of you to go out of your way like that.

Blessed BE!

I just had this happen to my 3 yr old granddaughter. I took some Strawberry Shortcake Shampoo with Cream Rinse & applied it to a wet wash cloth & then lathered it in the strand of hair. It softened it up then I took a comb & was able to comb it out. When I first saw it I was totally upset thinking I was going to have to cut a chunk out of her hair because the stuff dries like concrete. And of course it was in the front! But this worked for me so I hope it helps somebody else!

My daughter (who is 5!) just had it happen and L’oreal’s shampoo did the trick!! :-) Thanks for the shampoo idea.

This just happened to my little girl….we thought we’d have to cut it out. I tried everything above with no luck.

FInally, I boiled hot water and put it in a short sided tin container. She laid her head on the table with a towel over her face and I dipped the ends of her hair into it. Worked like a charm and started disolving instantly. For the stuff close to the scalp, I used a face cloth dipped in the hot water and rubbed it together and then pulled it downwards.

Good Luck!

Really warm water did the trick. Just put my darling in the tub and used a side bowl of hot tap water then dipped her golden locks into the bowl. Works out with your fingers fairly easily

I had the problem with my 6 year old granddaughter and she had it in all of her hair. I finally decided to use alcohol applied with a cotton ball, and then washed her hair. It worked very well.

Hot water trick worked for me. Just had the little guy lay on the coffee table with his head hanging back over the edge and put really hot water in a bowl. I soaked his hair in it - keeping it away from his scalp then worked it with my fingers. Got all of it out that way. Final shampoo took all the remaining grease out and we’re only half an hour late for school!

This is hilarious, now reading that the next jar of flarp is getting pitched as soon as it hits the door ;),of course being an advid scrapbooker I got the shots before during and after ;) My hubby insisted on peanut butter before I got the scissors. My 3 year old boy has beautiful long blonde hair, I felt like “resiu”’s wife, and was going to cry, kept it together for my boys sake. Peanut butter worked but then realized once I started washing him it would’ve just disolved……… I’m not telling Carter that though…… this taught him a lesson. We shouldn’t have a gum issue this summer? *FINGERS CROSSED* All of this on top of my oldest home with the chicken pox hopeing the 4,2, and 6 month olds don’t get it }: I’ll take Flarp anyday!!!!!

I just used Apple Cider Vinegar and it sort of “dissolved” it enough to pull the stands of hair out. Whew….
