Yea, I know. Isn’t it? It’s one of my favorites. Unfortunately, I don’t get to eat it very often.
General Tso Chicken, and deep dish supreme pizza. I’d say they are favorite only because they are a rare delicacy for me.

Those are great! As a boy I enjoyed muscadine grapes filched from a neighbor’s garden. And it’s hard to beat a fresh peach outside on a hot summer day. Or strawberries eaten from the fridge in the middle of the night.

I did not even know they were soy beans.

It sounds gross, but it’s actually really nice, it’s a bit peppery, but really good, it can be as part of breakfast, or as a main meal.
Haggis is what all these Scots eat. I learned about their love affair with it right after I joined Help.com…. It still sounds gross to me. Maybe JN will send me a care package of the stuff so I can expand my horizons.

Some things are better to be tried before finding out whats in them, then you can judge better if you like the taste or not.
I think once you’ve eaten black pudding, haggis ingredients really aren’t any worse than that.
Yeah my kids loved eating venison until one day I drove home with a dead deer in the back of my truck and my daughter asked what are you going to do with that? I said we are going to eat it. She looked at me like I was crazy and immediately stopped eating meat for about a month. She would become a vegetarian from then on whenever hunting season came around.

Aww, my sisters did the same with grouse, but I always liked it more when it was fresh. (My stepfather didn’t hunt deer because he didn’t care for venison and didn’t want to hunt for what he wouldn’t eat.)
My son became vegetarian for a few years when he realized that meat was dead animals, but then one day he decided it was ok to eat SOME meat. He still doesn’t like red meat much, but he will eat it in soup or stews where is isn’t the main ingredient, and he eats poultry. Oh, and he likes a bit of lamb once in a while, but usually only a few bites and only if it is very tender and spicy.

If you can butcher your own dear, you can handle trying haggis.

Your right, I did not find any. There is a man at church who live part time here and part time in Scottland. I am going to ask him about it.
I cut the heart, lungs, liver, stomach, intestines, etc… out before I drag a deer out of the woods. It is coyote food, not for human consumption.

says the man who eats beef jerkey!!
Why do you guys do that? I tried it, it’s awful, bt easy enough to make at home, just add spices to an old pair of leather shoes, leave them sat in the sun for a long time, then eat.

You should ask him to bring you one next time he’s back in scotland.
You can get haggis in England as well, just not as easily, but it isn’t as good, the closer you get to the scotish border the better it gets, then, once in scotland, it’s everywhere & its georgeous.
Mmmmmm, think i’m going to have to do haggis neeps & clapshot for dinner soon mmmmmm
That really is good, and not weird :)
When i make it, i put a large, quatered onion in the water to boil with the potato’s, (remove onion when the potato is cooked) it add’s extra flavour.
Also, you can boil the neeps in milk to make it even better.
Add chives to it as well.
