Is it okay for boys to play with barbie dolls?

What’s your opinion? Because when I was younger I preferred to play with barbies rather than move a toy car back and forth. And now I’m ashamed of my past (playing with barbies)!

It’s fine!

Don’t be ashamed.

Should a girl be ashamed she played with toy cars?

‘Tis fine.
You’ll find people who don’t accept it, but it’s really no issue.
The most important thing is that kids use their imagination, which they can do with almost any toy.
You just preferred human toys to vehicle ones.

Yea, it’s fine. But don’t be surprised if others make fun of you for it.

No worries.

For what it’s worth.. one of my best friends is a 92 year old war veteran who fathered 6 kids.

He not only has a collection of well-deserved medals, military memorabilia and fishing reels… he also collects dolls.

And a very fine collection it is too.

So,

Dolls have nothing to do with macho/not macho.

Anyone who thinks they do has an issue.

If there’s no social stigma or ostracism, then it’s a good thing, better than playing with guns or most other things that are gender-assigned to boys.

But if it’s against community standards where you live, then you should be aware that social discrimination can have harmful.

My uncle played with dolls, made his own doll and he’d sewn many clothes for that doll when he was young, and he turned out to be a fashion designer and taylor. He has a family and he is a normal person.

Boys that play with dolls make better fathers. My boys had 3 older sisters and played with dolls that is what happens when you have older sisters. My older brother had a doll and my grandmother thought it was awfull but I can tell you he let me play with his trains and I thought I had the best brother growing up because he would play dolls with me too. it is a good thing go for it

When I used to run a child care, we had only one girl and the rest boys. We had an “action figure residential play set” instead of a dollhouse.

It’s perfectly normal for boys to play with dolls, especially when they are young. Later they start to worry about their friends making fun of them, so they quit, but it doesn’t mean they aren’t interested in them anymore. I saw little boys from age 2 to age 9 playing with our dollhouse and having fun.

One of my schoolfriends tried to get me to play dolls with her when I had to be at their house for some reason or other. I quickly escaped to the basement where my brother and her older brother were playing a pinball game. Years later I apologized for that.

When I was a kid, a boy who played with dolls would have gotten beaten up.

Every day!

But I’m fine with it, myself! ;-)

He always was silverse. You don’t “become” gay - you “are”. Toys make no difference.
