Help!

Since 9am, my cat have been sitting (horizontally) and heaving all day! Nothing comes out, just drool! What is wrong? Even when the dog comes, he doesn’t even blink, just watches with wide eyes as the dog runs by.

I put food, and water by him, but he didn’t eat. Last time he ate, was last night.

Okay well I still do not know what is wrong with the cat but I am pretty sure it is sick. I agree with PixieSticks you should take it to the vet.

my dad is soooooooooooooo stupid. He won’t let me take him to the vet until I find Out what’s wrong with him first. When I go outside, he’ll get up and rub against my leg, and even purr, still heaving. Then he goes and sits in the same place, on his belly, and keep heaving. He is about 3 or four human years, 28 cat years, he isn;t too old, or too young

the point of the vet is to see what is wrong with the cat, if it nothing there will be only a nominal charge for the consultation. If not, he’ll be getting the treatment he needs, try to convince your dad - the cat can’t help itself. Ask him if he’d like it if he couldn’t breathe and people wouldn’t take him to the hospital because they wanted to find out what was wrong with him first!

I told him what u said.

His reply: I’m not gonna drive nine million miles to the vet so I can pay a thousand dollars! Just let him go! He’s a bush cat, you see him every other day!

Dad is dumb.

I read in my MErck animal health book that mineral oil is gonna help digest a furball. What’s mineral oil? Is it like olive oil?

I have no idea what minderal oil is. I say give it a try. If it is a furball then it will help the cat. If it isn’t then the problem still is not solved. I am no expert but that is what I think.

I’ve had 16 cats in my 20 years, and I’ll tell ya, it’s sounds like a hairball. They CAN sometimes really harm the cat if hair get caught in the stomach or esophagus, so I would recommend taking the poor thing to the vet just in case. If you absolutely can’t, try getting some simple meds from your local food/pet store. You can also try a very small dose of a laxative or jelly to help it slide out.
When the cat is better make sure to brush it often to prevent another one! Good luck!
