Person help: Was I being sadistic and/or harsh when I said those dumb “drag racing” teens should die? - Help.com

Was I being sadistic and/or harsh when I said those dumb “drag racing” teens should die?

I was driving and noticed two teen boys in car and attempting to race and whatnot and speeding. An older friend of mine said, “oh those young people…”(shes a lot older than I am) and I replied saying, “I hope they die in car crash.” She was shocked and said I shouln’t have said that, they’re someone’s children! (I dont want to sound like a “meanie” or literal SOB cause Im not but it just really irritates me so) Well I got the thinking those someone’s sons need better parents and those kids need better guidance and a spoonful of maturity! I just can’t understnd why, whether young or old, people tend to repeat “dumb” mistakes, that could be prevented!

These kids were begging for trouble. If you want to race, go to a race track. Stop trying to act as if your in the “Too Fast and Too Furious”! First of all, none of these dudes are close to looking like Paul Walker or near tough as Vin Diesal. (Please there movie stars there not that tough in real life! Undereath all the sculpted chiseling muscle…) lol =P Secondly, why would you put your self and other driver’s and pedestrians in danger? I mean how many handicap and dead people from car related incidents does it take for people to realize your body is your car and you need to be careful? Nobody’s ordering you to drive like an old lady (no offense) nor is somebody holding a gun to head making you speed. But your not the only person on the road and stop trying to act like you got somewhere more important to go then others. We all got places to go to ya know! AND IF YOUR RUNNING LATE YOU SHOULDVE LEFT EARLY!

Im not asking anyone to come up with the cure to cancer or stop hunger in Africa. And then when people get in trouble or hurt, they get angry and upset, or dreadfully regret and keep asking, “why did I do this” and whatnot. Hello?! What did you expect? Save your self the trouble next time because I know or you should know better! You have a brain, stop and think for a second, you dont have to Socrates to do this!!! =) And unless your severely mentally challanged, and blind, and deaf theres no excuse. Again your not the only one living on this planet! There other people out there too… So a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T-!

So many “mistakes” could be prevented, whether it be teen pregnancy or dying of overdose from drugs. By the way, its not the drugs fault if you become addicted and die. How many cops, teachers, and parents does it take to understand, “DONT DO DRUGS PERIOD!” We’ve been hearing this since elementary school! There is no excuse, and yes people make mistakes bc we are not “perfect” but one should not rely on that and brush it off as “Oh well people make mistakes”. I can’t help but to be tempted to go on and ramble about a variety of things with my opinions. Is it wrong to wish people had common sense these days and more understanding of each other?

***After rereading what I wrote in the begginning and finally being calm and rational (lol) I realize all people didn’t grow up in the same environment as I did or have or had different experieces. Im fortunate enough and truly grateful I know these things. I don’t expect people to be perfect or just like me because this is not possible but I get so irritated when tragic things could have been prevented. I dont like it when families are in sorrow or hurt. Maybe I’m the epitome of Barney lol. It’s not specifically the boys’ drag racing that digs under my skin (please be safe you peer pressured children) but the concept of not being able to learn from OTHER PEOPLE’s mistakes and ones own to become a better person is such a waste of time and life… It makes me believe your useless… *sigh*

Get my drift? I swear I’m not an Literal SOB or anal person but i just had to vent today about this =)
OHHH By the way (hahaha) if your wondering why I sound so bratty, Aunt Flow is visiting! =P hahaha

Now we know why there is police brutality…people do stupid things that are dangerous to themselves and/or others, and the officer’s adrenaline kicks in…don’t become a police officer, Jay! :)

I think the problem is that most young people think that they are invincible/immune to the laws of physics/aren’t thinking about the future/don’t grasp the fundamental concept of “consequences”. Some of the more stupid among us can’t learn from other people’s mistakes, and have to make them themselves.

A wise man learns from the mistakes of others. An not so wise man learns from his own mistakes.

no, you werent being harsh, you were just speaking your mind. the other person sees life differently than you because they are older. You would probably get a better response from people your own age that would not be trying to give you wisdom.
