How bad do arm tattoos hurt?

I am going to get a tattoo today, and I’ve changed the location of it quite a few times and I finally decided I want it on my upper arm like right under neath my shoulder, above my bicep. Not the inner part, but the outter part of my arm.

People say it depends on your pain tolerance, and I guess I have a pretty good pain tolerance I’m not really sure. So far I’ve gotten an Industrial piercing which a few people have said is one of the most painful piercings, but it didn’t hurt me at all. I also have an eyebrow piercing, which I survived through too.

I’ve been told the outline hurts much more than the feeling in part. ALSO My tattoo is going to be very small, it’s just a simple X-IV (birthday in roman numerals) maybe with a small heart next to it or something, but it shouldn’t take no longer than 30mins I was hoping.

They feel like a small needle being repeatedly stabbed into your skin and injecting ink.

Just imagine getting hundreds of flu shots on your arm in a pattern. That’s probably pretty close to how it feels.

If your industrial didn’t hurt too much than this probably shouldn’t either. I wouldn’t say flu shots as the needle isn’t going that far into your skin. I think it’s like many close together quick, harder pin pricks until the area goes numb. Probably not numb for you as this is a small tattoo. During, just think of the end result.

Ha I already got it done, sorry I’m so late replying.
It didn’t hurt at all. Took about 2mins. It’s nothing big.
