meeting my inlaw today D: and i’m getting so nervous.
they arrive in maybe 4hrs, a little more perhaps. i say my inlaw ’cause it’s my fiance’s mom, his dad died yrs ago. and also his brother. they’re coming from india(i’m in the USA) and this is my first time meeting them. they’re hindu/indian and i’m not(i’m hispanic lol). so, yeah i’m kind’a freaking out. felt fine about it ’till a few hrs ago too. did some ‘research’ lol about indian/interracial marriages and all that last week, and i found more horror stories more than not. mainly ’cause of how they’re set in their ways and all that, and yes my fiance’s family is one that does the arranged marriage stuffs(both his sisters have done it and his younger brother’s already promised supposedly). the only reason my fiance was able to get away w/ it is he came to the US like 8yrs ago so wasn’t in his parent’s grasp. idk D: i already have a feeling she hates me. i don’t want to be stuck up or anything either but honestly i don’t even care if she likes me all that much, i’m just hoping living with her is tolerable(she’ll be staying at our place for a couple of months). she doesn’t speak english either so that’s also kind’a weird but good at the same time. i’m just dreading all the cooking(i’m all for eating, but when it comes to strong smells, i get sick really easily. and from the fiance’s cooking i can only imagine how much worse his mom’s is). uh, i also hate how he asked me to cover up at least for the first few days. not that i dress so slutty or anything, but my gawd can’t i at least wear a tank-top and shorts or a skirt in this mid80’s to 90 degree weather? D:
