If you could have one dead musician brought back to life, who would you choose?
I would definitely pick Frank Sinatra. Ol’ Blue Eyes would definitely whip the music industry back into shape, and then we’d never have to listen to another Justin Bieber or Rebecca Black ever again!

Probably John Lennon or Slipknot’s bassist. This could make the world a better place. I can’t think of too many dead musicians of the top of my head.

Oh yes I forgot about Lennon. He is a great one for change.
And his death was so unjust.

Tough one!
Too many… Mercury… Cobain… Page… Hendrix… Sinatra…
maybe amy winehouse, she was a bloody good singer and im not really into too much old music
Gary Moore.
1. Because he was Irish
2. Because he was absolutly insane
Or…Phil Lynot.
1. Again, because he was Irish.
2. Because he was (in my opinion) the most talented musician to ever live.
3. Because he had a fantastic voice
it’s impossible for me to pick up only one… Lennon,Cobain,Mercury,Morrison and Hendrix. all legends.
Oh man, I was going to say John Lennon, and then you reminded me of Sinatra, one of my favorite musicians. Now that’s a tough one, between Lennon and Sinatra… I’m gonna have to stick with Lennon, he was more philosophical with his music, although I think Sinatra had a better voice than Lennon in terms of singing. Both incredible musicians.

Or Beethoven and we could give him hearing aids so maybe he could hear what his later compositions actually sounded like.

If you haven’t listened to “hendrix sings the blue” album, with the song “catfish blue”, you should. Another song “room full of mirrors” is good.

Proof from D12.
He was so underrated, and it was such a waste of talent, a human being in general. Plus, his children still need their father.
John Lennon
Mozart, Greig, Back, Wholfhart, Shubert…..so many others!!!!
Marvin Gaye (I can’t believe no one said him!)
Bob Marley
or
John Lennon.
I love Nirvana and Kurt Cobain but I wouldn’t bring him back because he committed suicide. Unless, of course, you buy into conspiracy theories and believe he was killed. I think he killed himself. If you kill yourself, you shouldn’t be brought back.

HENDRIX!!! Also, Aaliyah and Amy Winehouse were pretty good too. If I could pick ONE, I wouldn’t pick them, but I’d put them on that list!
Dimebag Darrell- Pantera’s old lead guitar. ****. Such a shame. The way he died, however, was the most metal way TO go. Poor dude.

I gave a random reply, but the point was to talk to an actual living person (who made this post.) The peculiarity of his topic doesn’t affect me, maybe that’s the only way he could think of to ask for help, or even to be helpful. Sort of random, but it reminds people of what or who they value, like, and love.

Kurt could have been helped, but no one really tried. I blame everyone who knew him for his death. And if no one stopped his drug abuse he would have lived longer, it help for his pain and they wanted to take that relief from him, so it’s their fault.

You take an underground band & turn them into the very thing they hate…of course they’re going to self-destruct.

Dave Groel hasn’t killed himself. Neither have the other members of the Foo Fighters.
If he didn’t like it, he should have quit the band, not quit life.
He was an amazing artist but we shouldn’t make excuses for his actions. At the end of the day, he’s still dead because he wanted to be. It was his choice-not something accidental like an overdose. He took a gun and shot himself. He obviously didn’t want to be here. Why bring someone back who doesn’t want to be brought back?

I still think courteny love did it. he o’d then shot shot himself? why not let the overdose do its work? courteny barely cared that he was dead and got millions from it.
many have killed themselves with a gun. kurt didn’t care to live any more and it’s not something extraordinary from a depressed man. sure, he is one of the greats of all time and was a genius but it doesn’t mean he didn’t do anything wrong.

I wasn’t talking about the individual memmbers of the band. I was talking about the band itself. I read somewhere that the purpose of Nirvana’s “In Utero” was to aleinate as much of their fanbase as possible. I think they succeeded. Of course, then Kurt kills himself & screws up any chance they had of being a “one album wonder”.

Sadly. But I like that people who truly appreciate Nirvana talk about as everything as a whole, not individual songs or albums. This is funny (to me): I forced my dad to listen to Nirvana while I was living with him, he couldn’t hear the words to the songs so it was fine (It was that black MTV CD). He bought me the wrong one. He liked what he heard, expect for “Polly” and “Something in The Way”. I bought all their CD’s except one because I couldn’t find it anywhere. One day on a really long trip somewhere I played “Sliver” in the car, my favourite album because Kurt didn’t hold himself back and I like his voice no matter how crappy people think it sounded, my dad and me laughed at the words, my dad, at how awful it sounded. He said to me, “Stop playing this crap,” As if he were in pain, and that to me was really funny. Because that is what it was. Crap. And I like it.

well, “silver” is definitely not their best song but it’s surely not bad either IMO.

kurt was no fredie mercury in singing but half of the magic of nirvana is kurt’s voice. his voice was perfect for nirvana’s song and helped the atmosphere a lot.(no wonder though, everybody sings their own song better!!)
and his lyrics are fantastic in most of the songs!

Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged in New York is awesome. They really played their hearts out that night. It’s the only other Nirvana album I own. Other than the song “Heart Shaped Box” I just couldn’t get into their other stuff. I think, had Kurt not killed himself, they would have fizzled out like so many other bands. Instead, Kurt became a martyr for the grunge/alternative movement.
Just an fyi, I bought Nevermind loooooong before MTV put “Smells Like Teen Spirit” in heavy rotation.

i agree with u about that, probably kurt’s addiction and depression wouldn’t let them to go any further. it’s not for certain however.
but man i love “In Utero”!! they put out three albums, each one better than the other and that was it. if they had continued a bad record or two could have hurt their legacy to an extend. but some people use that to undermine everything nirvana for some reason, that’s just unfair and illogical.(sorry for possible mistakes,my native’s not english)

I’ve been asking a lot of people who like Nirvana if they like Kurt’s voice, everyone’s said “no, he’s got an awful voice” so I gathered that’s it’s very few who enjoy his voice for what it is. I was talking about “Sliver” the album.
that compilation album? well, it’s mostly demo’s. but good stuff can be found there too.
weird, i haven’t seen many Nirvana fans saying so! his voice fitted Nirvana’s songs perfectly.
Kurt’s voice was perfect for the kind of music they played. The only other person I can think of that had the perfect voice for grunge was Layne Staley of Alice in Chains.
