It’s true that the ice caps are melting and it sucks very badly. As far as I know because of all of that melting there are not whole TWO sea routed opened directly through antarctica, the area previously covered by ice. Ships are already beginning to utilize those routes because even though it’s very cold out there the whole year those routes never freeze.
As for dealing with the problem, not much can be done to fix this situation, it will resolve itself in several hundreds of years of humans would stop burning any stuff AT ALL for that time. But since that’s impossible all people can do is to try and prevent the problem from going worse. Unfortunately half of the countries out there don’t care whatsoever about global warming and icecap melting, they care only about profit and so that profit would last for their pathetic lifetimes, no concearn for future generations whatsoever.

Fact: No one knows enough about the weather and climate in general to be able to make good predictions. We’ve only been collecting data a few hundred years, and only in an organized, systematic way for about 100 years. Not long enough to know anything about it; as changes on Earth take thousands of years.

The whole “global warming” scare is based on bad science, shoddy data, and BIG leaps of logic.

When I was a kid (not that many years ago) the big scare was global COOLING. Now, it’s global WARMING. In a couple of decades, it will be global STAGNATION or global SCHIZOPHRENIA.

Just ignore it. And don’t throw money at it. Buying “green” won’t hurt anything, and buying organic really might be better for you. But do it because you WANT to, not because you feel there will be dire consequences if you don’t.

its too late to do anything about it. we could dump ice cubes into the ocean, but making the electricity to make the ice would just cause more global warming.

Yes; natural disasters cause far, far more pollution than people do. Mount ****. Helens blew out the equivalent of several thousands of years of “emissions” and all is well…. We humans are really arrogant to think that we can change the climate with the exhausts of our cars when compared to a single volcano or the dust clouds of meteor strikes.

Yes; Mother Nature is far, far, far ahead of the game. She was doing what she did for MILLIONS of years before we came along, and she will continue to do what she does: find a way for life to continue.

We really just don’t have to worry about it much. Don’t do truly dumb, wasteful things, but don’t start thinkin’ you deserve to go to hell if you drive to the supermarket, either.
