Who else loves vinyl records?

I bought my first record player January of 11, and I can’t stop collecting records now. My collection has grown pretty fast given the period of time, and my salary. there is a good chance I might not ever buy a cd again.

I once went to a thrift store and picked up a huge collection from someone who was done with there vinyl days, think I paid less than a dollar for each one. Had tons of good music in there in mint condition… I just got lucky that day because the girl working there knew I was looking and she brought out a whole cart full and I got first pick.

I went into a thrift store and there was about 5000 45’s singles.
Someone came in and bought the whole collection at about 10 cents each.

Love them. They sound more human. I just purchased Laura Marling’s A Creature I Don’t Know on record and she added things to the music which made it a joy to listen to. I also got Mick Ronson’s Slaughter on Tenth Avenue for five bucks.

I mean, it feels more physical.. If that makes sense at all. the ritual of putting a record on the table feels right. It’s not like clicking through an ipod or itunes. You have to make a conscious decision to flip the record once it’s through a side. And i agree Marquis.. It feels way more human, analog.

They’re amazing. Recently at a book store I got the doubleLP of the Orson Wells ‘War of the Worlds’ Halloween broadcast. I mostly get soundtrack albums. It’s nice having music you can hold.
