How can I find a retail job in Central London?

Is it better to apply online or shall I take my CV around the stores?? Thanks.

take your cv and go hit those stores!

If they are a large chain, take one to their head office Human Resources Dept. too…

Do your homework and try to tailor your cv to the stores that interest you. Are you heading for fashion? homewares? sports goods? Your cv needs to reflect a knowledge of the store and its products.

You may have to drum up a couple of “alternative” cv’s for different environments.

Good luck.

Go personally to the store, also always ask for the manager. If you give your cv to a random employee say good bye to any chance you had to work in that store.

Are there no papers that offer opportunities?

Although I do agree when it comes to retail it’s best to go to stores in the area you want to work in to see if they are looking for staff or even just had in your CV. You could also go to your local jobcentre. Sometimes smaller stores may advertise there.
