Let me explain something to you. The reason that “news” is always depressing, is because bad stuff happening is SO RARE that it is considered newsworthy. If bad happened all the time, good stuff would be rare and newsworthy. To give you an example, let’s look at car crashes.

There were about 18,000 car accidents in the United States yesterday.
On that same day, around 252,900,000 people drove around completely without incident.
That’s over 14,000 times as much GOOD on the highways as there is bad.
But what does the news report?
The accidents.
Not the fact that millions of people drive every day without ever having trouble.
