I can’t concentrate for more than 15 minutes on anything constructive but I can play solitaire over and over for hours.
I was working well this morning on something due at 2 PM, realized it wouldn’t get done in time, so I got my deadline moved to next week. Wanted to keep working after that, but after about a half hour, I spaced out and couldn’t do anything but play solitaire, eat, sleep, or pace around. When I get like this I can’t even read a fun book or do anything that involves concentration (except solitaire for some reason). I have not always been like this. I am 53, female, self employed web designer with first two paying clients - its very important that I get myself to work on their projects. My problem might be too much caffeine, not enough exercise, just being a lazy cow, I don’t know. Do you think I should go to a doctor to make sure there isn’t a health issue? My sister, who is 47, has just been diagnosed with ADD and sleep apnea. She thinks i might have ADD too, or a sleep disorder. Thing is, as I said, I haven’t always been like this. I used to be able to concentrate and get things done. Still, I wonder if there is something physical going on. Its not lack of motivation, because I really do want to be self-employed and to be a web designer, and to be a success at it. I have good time management skills, but I don’t use them, because I just find myself to be spaced out for most of the day.
