Are there internet services that don’t need phone or cable subscription?

I have phone lines and cables at home, but I don’t use them because I use cell phone and Dish Satellite. Can I subscribe a Internet Service for my home computer if I don’t have phone/cable services?

Thanks,

Jim

Yes–you can get the internet by satellite, but it is comparatively slow and quite expensive. Two companies that offer this are HughesNet and WildBlue.

You can also get the internet by linking your cellphone or a dedicated card to your laptop, but again it is slow and expensive…

Their is also some ISP’s that use all wireless, but they are only in big cities, not really for home use, and cost a LOT.
