Here’s some good advice for you, Nath. Stop fooling around on Help.com and answering peoples’ questions about thier love life and get to your homework!!

Deny yourself ‘luxuries’ till you hit a set word count? Then reward yourself with a bit of internet time, or some food (lol) etc. Make sure you keep away from the internet, games, the telephone, and any other unnecessary distractions.

Or, set a time frame in which to write certain parts, for example: one hour to write draft one, starting at *specify time*. Then sit your butt down and do it! Rinse and repeat.

I find the morning is a great time to study… something about getting the ‘work’ done first thing so the rest of the day is free for play.

Unplug the phone, turn off the tv and stereo, and stay far away from the computer. And, Just do it!

Sit down and look at your paper and pretend you are replying to a post on help.com and let the words fly out of you for your assignment.

The way I do it is, I focus on the fact that I need to write that paper, for a few days on and off, I think about it, and I prepare myself and slowly gather my thoughts. Thinking positively, and clearly, I’d sit down and look at all my info and calmly, would make an outline in my head of where I could start off from. What seems like the best way to you? What seems fitting?

It’s all about structuring right. :)

haha spur, that’s classic lack of attention span. I love how it takes me days to sit down and write a paper, when in fact it only takes a few hours to write it. I go about it also by taking it slow. make like an outline and write down what you want to write about where. Then in an hour sit down again and fit all your sources and key points into those ideas. Then the next time i start writting it and touch it up the day after that.
