If you’re thinking of running away, just give these folks a call before you do.

They may be able to find you better solutions to whatever situation you are in. They can make sure you have somewhere safe to go.

You can call them confidentially and talk things through. They won’t tell you what to do but can help you make wise choices.

If you are not in the US and would like an alternative site and number, just let me know.

Unless you speak another language, the only countries you can run to, which are not war-torn, poverty stricken or totalitarian are in the Anglosphere (such as Canada, Britain and Australia). None of these countries will give you a visa without an adult accompanying you on your stay. Without a visa you can’t work, can’t attend school, can’t get a loan or mortgage, can’t even go to a hospital and have to enter the country illegally which makes you a fugitive from Customs and Immigration.

Is whatever you’re running from worth all that trouble?

Running away means you need money. Making money means that there is no longer someone around to pay for your food, bed, toilet paper, clothes, heat, shelter.

So unless you have a plan for all that, I would just throw that idea right out of the window. Also, you’ll probably go illegally if you don’t have VISA and if you get caught doing anything, you’ll go to jail most likely.

It’s not like the movies. It’s 100% harder. You’ll start to notice those things you took for granted.

Well, you’re very sadly mistaken if you think that your idea is going to be easier or safer.

You’re going to get yourself wound up in some tight places, no matter how “Careful” you claim to be
