Why don’t zombies eat each other?
I’ve started following the AMC show The Walking Dead, and I catch a zombie flick if it’s on, like Resident Evil, etc. The other day I saw some B-movie, I think it was called Zombie Apocalypse. And the zombies didn’t just lumber about, they could run pretty fast. So I was wondering, if they have enough muscle tissue to run, why wouldn’t they just eat each other?
Somehow I will survive even if I don’t get an immediate and satisfying reply to this urgent problem.
And another thing, last season AMC ran this promotion to get web traffic for The Walking Dead, where they were offering a “stagger-on role as a zombie” as the grand prize. How awesome would it be to be a zombie extra? Except for the bullet or arrow in the head.

I guess humans taste better? lol or maybe they see humans as a different kind of species so it’s less gross to eat them. Though to be fair judging from resident evil the video game, zombies are like the stupidest creatures I think I’ve ever seen so maybe they just haven’t thought about eating each other!
In older films, they craved brains. And if their own brains were dead except for the most basic functions, it would make sense for them to want the brains of the living. But in later movies they’re less picky about what part of you they eat. If zombie legs are healthy enough to walk fast or run, wouldn’t they make equally tasty drumsticks?

haha yeah I guess but if was to put myself in a zombies shoes:/ I think I’d go with eating a human, zombies look like they wouldn’t taste good. Maybe they’re just fussy eaters and eating humans is like eating at a Michelin star restaurant where as eating zombies is like eating from the dodgy burger van at the side of the road, I know which one I’d choose..
you wouldn’t want to each flesh that’s been out in the elements decaying and putrefying would you? neither would zombies. they want food so fresh they want is wiggling when they eat it.
I love The Walking Dead! It’s the only show I make a point to watch every week. :)
From what I’ve seen on the show, zombies can smell fresh meat versus their own decaying flesh. I think it’s like how carnivores don’t like vegetables and plants. It’s just not something theyre interested in eating.
shizzz, if i was a zombie id eat anything. but they eat people cause who would want to watch a movie/show, etc. where zombies eat each other? zombies eating people is much more appealing and haunting to people, gives them something to think about/ be afraid of i guess. im pretty sure all the new vaccines that we keep creating…are gunna be the cause of a rabies/zombie out break… im ready for it! i got guns up the ying yang! XD

Lol yeah I’m off the chain and.. (oh my!) going commando.
Because they are not real and that is a movie not real life! Plus if they would eat each other, the story would be pretty boring
Because they would require living flesh, and zombies are dead. Besides, they may choose to hunt in packs as this would help bring down the stronger humans.
because then if zombies ate zombie’s then there would be no zombie apocolyps
that would be awesome if there was a zombie outbreak and all they wanted to eat was grass and other zombies…. hahaha. shooting gallery?
I was supremely disappointed in the show, especially as a big zombie fan.
My thoughts were that zombies only ate the flesh of the living. So once a human turns, there is no desire to eat it.
What makes me curious is that you always see zombies devouring their victims and yet the zombies themselves seem fairly whole (decay not-withstanding). So what gives? New zombies should be all torn apart, or possibly fully eaten…just piles of bones.
maybe the ones who are close to full eaten, dont always come back to life? haha i love how were discussing zombies when they are only a made up thing xD
Zombies crave brains. I think that they crave working brains. The zombie body recognizes the electrical circuits flowing in the other persons brain and they want that for themselves, and the only way that they feel that they can attain those powers on a rudimentary level is to eat it with their mouths.
Zombies arent cannibals you idiot
In some stories, zombies do eat each other, when they’re hungry enough for it.
I guess they eat living flesh as opposed to dead flesh
Zombies have no blood.
because zombies themseves…. dont have brains…:)
Ok here is the answer according to resident evil series Zombies blood is solidified, also their flesh is rooten so i guess human flesh is better.
