So i am a struggleing 18 year old.

I worked at safeway for a while but got a better job…. that job didn’t quite work out like i wanted it to so now i am back at safeway… I was excited at first to be back and promised i would stay longer than last time. only thing is managment is awful and many people are quitting so we are under employed and i am working a ton. wouldn’t be a huge deal if i wasn’t super sick… and managment is continuing to make me work extra. i really wanna quit but i promissed id stay and they really really need the help. i don’t wanna be an a hole but i am so misserable there… what should i do?……

John, there is nothing more important than your health. Go to one of those 24-hour clinics and pay by credit card or make arrangements for payments. If you are dead, you cannot work!

Wish it wasn’t that way in the USA . . . if you see any Tea Party people, give them a good, swift kick in the pants. It’s so sad when people vote against themselves!

Take some cold meds. At least you get all that overtime.

See that doctor . . . you don’t want to be self-medicating if you’ve got something serious.

The trick, my friend, is to take care of things when they are little things–you want to stay out of the hospital. If you let your health go, you will end up in the hospital and you don’t know what a big bill is until you see a big hospital bill!

That’s, of course, if you survive to see it!

Ya I agree with chev too. It’s better to take care of the little things because they always find a way of getting worse. I originally had a simple sort throat and stuffy nose. I kept putting off the doctors because I attend school like 6 days a week since I’m majoring in Nursing and minoring in Pharmacy tech./Art. I ended up getting a severe case of asthma bronchitis which I think is starting signs of pneumonia. It was horrible! I ended up missing two weeks of school because it was impossible for me to stop coughing. I ended up bruising my ribs from coughing so hard. The doctor had to put me on a few antibiotics, strong cough medicine, and breathing treatments.

Now for that job just stick with it until you can find another. That’s really all I can think of. I mean I don’t work, but here in NY there are civil service exams that I occasionally take. Some of these tests don’t require experience or a college degree. Even if it’s a job you hate, but you have some experience in, go for it. Stay at least for 6 months and than quit and file for unemployment. You’ll receive money for being unemployed. I mean these jobs pay well and you get great benefits like health plans and etc. The only catch is you need to receive a 98 or higher to even have a chance at a job spot. These exams are REALLY competitive. I mean you could score a 100 and you’d still have fight against hundred other people who scored the same to get a spot. It’s a pain, but well worth it…..However, with this whole global crisis thing going on there might have some trouble. I know for me I’m fighting against all the “supposed to be retired” nurses to get a job. Ugh!
