According to Wikipedia Edmund Dulac did illustrations for “Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam”, (where the quote comes from), a translation made by Edward FitzGerald of a selection of persian poems.

The quote is attributed to Edward FitzGerald.
(Although the original persion poems are attributed to Omar Khayyam.)

“The Moving Finger writes: and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.”

Wow, I am truly grateful. These are some of the things my mom would quote. She was a very learned lady. She could talk of Greek and Roman mythology like she knew them all.

see if you understand this one…
“hate what i do, not who i am”
dont bother finding who said it
because nobody did
i made that one…
but you cant hate a person, you can only hate their actions and words…
to hate a person, is to hate life itself

That could not have come at a better time. I am having trouble dealing with an issue and you’re words struck home. Thank you.
