Help me somebody!

I lost my wife, I lost my job due to an injury, and I am about to lose my car. I am a single parent on a fixed income raising my 14 year old daughter. I need a loan or a gift of about 20,000 dollars or I will lose everything. Is there anything I can do?

Michael

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but first, think realistically about what you need. It’s not likely that you will get a loan without a job, and I’ve never met anyone willing to just give out $20,000 as a gift. If you find that person, then you are lucky. What you CAN do, if you haven’t already, is apply for welfare (foodstamps, low income housing, etc), apply for unemployment. You might also try a temp. agency to get some quick cash. Maybe you have friends or family or a church/charity that will help you out, let you live with them or something.

It’s hard to tell much about your situation from your post other than you need help RIGHT NOW! Just remember this is no time to let pride and ego stand in the way of you getting help for you and your daughter. Do whatever it takes, within the law of course. If you are a praying man, this is certainly the time for that. I will remember you in mine.

Thank you I will follow your advice. I have never been in this situation before and trust me when I tell you I am not sitting on my hands. The loss of my car, however, will complicate things and that is the stress. Thank you for your reply I really appreciate it.

Wish I could, but I’m in a similar boat. If you have a home, have you thought about home equity loan? Hope things get better!

Hi. My wife died in January. After the shock of her death (me rolled up in a ball shivering and trembling for hours on end) came the panic over finances. I don’t doubt that your situation is very tough. I wonder if you can use public transit or carpool? Is your car absolutely necessary? Have you investigated life insurance, pension payouts, sick leave payouts, vacation pay payouts that might be associated with your wife’s death?
