I`m using omegle right now it’s place we can chat with stranger.
btw how you come to know about omegle ?
Well I can see where you live…I know your name is Morgan…and I know to try your windows cos your doors are all locked tonight…. kidding, I’d probably wait for you to come out the front and ambush you.
Don’t know about the computer thing, I know you can get your IP address easy enough. When I had Facebook, it used to tell me where I’ve just logged in at :| There are definitely ways to trace people but you’d have to have a better than average understand of computers.
Don’t worry about it :) that was a pretty funny thing to say, well, more so because you’re nervous…. Hope you didn’t tell him where you actually live, though!
Of course it’s possible to track people down through the internet. If the FBI can do it, so can anybody else, and it doesn’t even take the knowledge of a hacker to do so. That’s why you have to be extremely careful with what kind of information you give out on the internet. The internet can be a dangerous place sometimes, I’m not exaggerating when I say you have to be EXTREMELY careful. Also, come on now, if some guy on Omegle starts asking you personal questions, you don’t stay in the conversation. The most important thing you can do on the internet is use common sense. There is a “disconnect” button on that site for a reason.
It’s not likely that the guy is going to show up at your house just based off of that information alone, nor was it likely that he had the time to acquire any traceable information off of your computer in the time it took to chat with him. But yes, just be safe. It’s so easy to make little mistakes, and those little mistakes can sometimes turn into big problems.
It’s possible to trace your ISP address, but it comes down to why.
The world does have weirdos an it’s important not to share private info:)
If they persist or stalk, you can notify the police.
I believe the real monsters know this, so you should be okay if you tell them to get lost:)
Basically if you’re using a secure website then all the person would be able to get whether legally or illegally is your IP address which will take the person who searches to your internet provider. Your personal details, and your physical address, name and contact numbers are personal information. Only policemen and government officials have the right to request that information.
Life is never safe, you can die basically any moment from many many causes. Chances of being hit by a car are higher than a random person trying to con your address from you on a chat so he would be able to come there physically from god knows where to assault you or something.
Meh, it’s a ridiculous scenario. Most of the chats sites and chat clients keep logs of conversations. So if something would happen to you the investigators would look at the logs, look through message history and that suspicious person would be a prime suspect. People who are seriously planning something highly illegal are not using internet chats to gather information;
So you’re safe, as safe as one can be where people sometimes drive above the speed limit in residential areas in landrovers while under the influence… which can make the person make a slight wrong turn and ram into a house exploding the gas tank in the process effectively killing everybody near the car.
go to google and type in
THINGS TO DO BEF
Auto complete will bring up the rest for you. There are checklists all over the web for suggestions of what to do, see or try before your last breath. Even more of what individuals are recording as their personal intentions for their lifetime. There may even have been a MTV show about a person going around helping people check off a goal as a favor because the standard 100 things people come up with is more than one lifetime of good intentions.
Since the movie Bucketlist came out it is common for conversations to veer to such a topic when dreams of places to go or mentions of hopes to do something are brought up.
That no one has said this yet and have just fed into your fear is interesting. Stay off the video portion and skip everyone who insists on asking ASL before 5 lines of interaction and you might find some fun conversation to pass the time.
Even after some delightful banter it might not be wise to give your contact info, if asked for it or have a disposable account you can walk away from without hesitation (like yopmail).
I equate these interactions with chats that might occur with another patron while waiting in a long queque at the post office. But at the post office the others most likely live near me; on Omegle, you will rarely encounter another from your own country muchless driving distance where they could actually reachout and do anything to harm you.
Well, I don’t vidchat, so those users may actually have different geographical profile than the scrollchat users. You are probably more vulnerable on facebook :/
Stay safe and have fun.
There’s a lot of advice here… Essentially, for christ’s sake, don’t tell anyone ANYTHING you would be comfortable telling to a stranger on the street. There’s no two ways about it.
WOULDN’T be comfortable telling to a stranger, I should say **
is there anyway people can track your location down through the internet? im a little nervous, some dude on omegle kept asking me qeustions, and they were getting pretty personal, like what state i lived in, what i looked like, he was trying to be friendly. and then, not sure what we were talking about, but i said it was cool, and he said that something i should put on my list of things to do before i die. who the freak says that O.o????? im nervous. im locing all the doors and hiding under my blanket until i feel safe again :(
