I was surfing a page appeared which said I’ve been infected and it continued to illustrate in writing and symbols where and with what I was infected with including the day, month, hour I was hit. But while I was focusing my eyes I noticed the tines and date was before I purchased the machine. Now I’ve ran all the anti virus and microsoft security essential test at my disposal and turn up nothing ? Is this going to be a problem?

some sites will want to trick you into thinking you have a virus so that you will download their software to “get rid” of it. but if you do that, then you truly will have a virus. don’t trust any website that tells you things like that. only trust the antivirus software that YOU installed.

First of all, that is a program that says it is one thing but is a different thing, e.g. antivirus 2009, when you look at the name you assume it is an anti-virus, however this is actually a virus.

Second of all, how did you get to this site, did you click a link in google?

Thirdly, I would download and install a program called hijack this, scan and save a log file (it needs administrative priveleges) and then copy and paste the log file to the following site: http://www.computerhope.com/cgi-bin/p… this will then read the log file and explain in easy to read table format, if you have any viruses, as some viruses, especially backdoor viruses can either disable the virus, or it can mask itself as a windows file.

Fourthly, what anti-virus software are you using?
