Zirbel. What about a restore point in Windows…. Do they not go back 3 months?

I don’t know how- but my fella once restored my laptop to a previous date as I’d messed up with some software.
Let me just have a look…See if I can do it…
Ok…
I’ve just done…start-control panel-system and maintenance-back up and restore centre.
Then on the left hand side of my screen there is an option for creating a restore point. Click on that and you’ll see a system restore button.
You can choose which date you want.
And…I daren’t go any further - I always destroy technology!

It depends.
First of all you have to CREATE the system restore point.
(See the description for Windows 7: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/3195/c… )
And ONLY if you have done it you can restore — back to the time when the last restore point was fixed, whenever it was.

(But it seems that it restores only system and programs — no data.)

Yes, but if you have MISSED to create the restore point some time BEFORE, then you’ll have no chance to restore anything from the time before now.
