do you believe this applies to both girls and guys woman and men?

???

When you take charge of your life, there is no longer need to ask permission of other people or society at large. When you ask permission, you give someone veto power over your life.

Pretty sure guys are men and girls are woman…

That aside, no, I think this applies to a specific setting. If everyone thought that it was okay to do things without permission we’d live in anarchy.

If by girls and guys you mean children, then maybe not all the time. Kids (and sometimes even adults) should sometimes ask for permission. But generally, you should take control of your life. That applies to both women and men.

Gender is irrelevant. The quote is aimed at human beings in general.

Agree with verisimilitude regarding gender. I feel that this is a very simplistic quote.

I absolutely agree with self empowerment and taking control of your own life, as well as not being sorry for who you are, but we live in a controlled environment where we must abide by certain rules of society. Having said that, I dont like the traditional male/female roles we tend to have (ie at a dinner party or bbq or other social gathering the women do the work while the men sit around, drink and chat) so some ‘rules’ should be changed. But then some people have taken this too far where some men do not behave in a gentlemanly manner around women and some women dont like them to. Very complex!!

I guess as long as it doesnt hurt yourself or others, this quote is okay.
