wondering help: Is there anything I can do to make my hair less frizzy? - Help.com

Is there anything I can do to make my hair less frizzy?

My hair is kind of wavy but can get really frizzy. I was wondering if there was anything I could do to it, without having to buy alot of special products. I was also looking for haircuts that might look good. Thanks in advance!

Well using a flat iron and some strong hairspray would be fairly easy to do.. also maybe using a shine product helps in smoothing or finishing the look to a more polished appearance.
Not sure about what to suggest for a haircut but I think the longer cuts might be better.

I have the same problem. The shampoo and conditioner that you choose is really important, a couple that have worked really well for me are the Herbal Essences Long Hair stuff, and currently I am using Dove shampoo and conditioner. Although I have spent thousands on hair care products in the past, I have not found the ’salon’ products to be any better, and in fact when reading the ingredients list, they are pretty much the same.

I have found three other products to be great. They are Revitafoam (a mousse that you put in your hair when you want it wild and wooly!!), soy renewal nourishing styling treatment (this is my fav - I love this for the professional look, but it can be a little heavy at times) and Goldwell Colourglow leave in treatment for that wash and wear wavy feel. I know you said that you didnt want to buy a lot of products, but I have had curly and frizzy hair for a long time now, and these are tried and tested!! Links to product pictures are below:

As for haircuts, I haven’t found a particular cut to be better for managing frizz (aside from a god awful Farrah Fawcett 70’s ‘do’ some chick gave me in the early 2000’s!!), but my hair is quite long, and I have found that the frizz is more manageable the longer it is.

Hope this helps!
