Can you perhaps sing some covers to get you started? Also, a lot of singers dont write, perhaps you could find a songwriter?

Perhaps look into poetry, and writing that first, then turning it into song?

I thought about covering, and have done it a little, but so many other people do that.. I wish I could find a songwriter, or someone who just would like to help, but idk where to find someone..

Yes, you are right, doing covres is common, but I guess I thought it might help to get you into the industry and get some contacts.

I did a quick google search and came up with these directories of singer and songwriter collaborators, there are probably plenty more, but hopefully this is a start, or even exactly what you need! They are in the US so if you are in a different country, you could put that in the search criteria. I just searched ‘how to find a songwriter’.

Perhaps you could also try contacting a record label and chat to them about it, they may be willing to speak to you. I really like these people:

Not that I have ever spoken to them, but I am a music buff so I am on their mailing list as they have some amazing acts signed to them, and I think that they could be more approachable than many bigger labels.

Good luck and hope this is helpful!
